W.I.N continued

Day 3-  Took a break

Continuing with yesterday's post. I took a break from the gym today.  Not because I was tired or sore.  I did because what's important now.

We mourn the passing of Papa Tom .  While at the same time we prepare to celebrate his life.  The more I learn about my wife's Grandfather, I only wish I can be half the man he was.  He was a quiet man who touched more lifes than any of us will probably ever know .

I also got a chance to take my wife out on a long over due date.  We had a chance to reconnect after a long stressful week.  We enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Longfellow Grill.  Once again, What's important now.

The gym was not as important as spending time with family and enjoying the wonder company of my wife over a 3 course meal.

Just a hint of our first course.  Just because I workout does not mean I still can't be a foodie.

W.I.N> (what's important now)

Day 2- I was able to get out of bed.

I was prepared to have a hard time getting out of bed.   I figured if I was moving like the Tin Man after my workout.  I was sure I was going to need an oil can to move this morning.  I was pleasantly surprise, I got up and had minimal pain.

I worked out on the treadmill today.  60 minute at an incline of 4 or 10.  I liked 4 better.

What is today's title all about.  W.I.N> (what's important now)

Exactly what it means.  What's important now.  We all must decide this every minute of everyday.  We need to decide what's important now.  We need to learn how to balance work, family, exercise and the everyday pressures that life throws at us.  So what is important now?  This week for us it is Grandpa Tom. He is coming to the end of his life.So he has been our main focus.  But along with that we still have all the other things that may be important throughout the day. It may not be as important, but it may be important at the time.   Getting Avery to Annie rehearsal, spending quality time with the Twins, getting Hannah to a party or just spending time with my wife. Then trying to find time to exercise.  With a busy life we need to know what's important now.

I managed to get a workout in today.  I also learned that if I miss one its ok, It may not have been What's important now.

I hate Kettle Bells more than Squats

DAY ONE- I didn't puke.

I managed to get through my first workout with my trainer.  I have a new appreciation for the the contestants on the Biggest Loser.  Today my biggest success was not puking on my trainer. Already on my first day,I have realized this is not only about losing weight. It's learning to push through and doing things that I never thought I could.   Today it may have been using a kettle bell or a dumbbell for the first time. In September it will be standing in front of an audience trying to make them laugh. Six months from now it could be trying to play basketball against my nephew.

Today Kettle Bells replaces my hate for squats. Combine the two together , I think it could be used to replace waterboarding

While doing the below exercise, I think I scared some young woman.  My shirt was shorter than I though. I showed a lot of belly.
